His patience and effective coaching was key to my consistent improvement, and using a low-heart rate method transformed me from a middle-of-the-pack athlete to repeated top 15% finishes in long-course triathlon (140.6). He understands the complicated demands of being a mother, working full time, business travel, and the general balance of training with a real-world approach. Jason has an infectious love of our sport and is a natural encourager to anyone and everyone - in all stages of their triathlon journey. I have immense respect for him as an athlete, his ability to instill a race-oriented mindset, his capacity to pursue stretch goals, and his desire to help others push limits. A friend of mine referred me to SRT, and I reached out to Jason. My goal was simply to stay healthy and break 7:00 hours for a half IM distance. 16 weeks later, I was extremely confident in my fitness, felt great, and the training regimen had been spot on. Not only did I easily break 7:00 hours, I finished with a 33 min PR and hit 6:42, even with a flat tire! If you are looking for someone to take you to the next level, and get you to the start line healthy, give Spears Racing Team a go!
Coach Jason is amazing! I did my first triathlon about 15 years ago, and have connected with and worked with multiple coaches over the years. Coach Jason is amazing! I did my first triathlon about 15 years ago, and have connected with and worked with multiple coaches over the years. He was a perfect fit for what I needed -- guiding me along the way, but also listens well and answered all of the many questions I had. In 2024 he helped me train and finish my first full Ironman -- 140.6 miles! If you are new to the sport and trying to finish, or a veteran and trying to improve your times, I'd definitely give him a call. Highly recommend and I don't say that lightly.
